1. Introduction- What in the world does "Lakota" mean? It means to be friendly, or ally. The Lakota were part of three tribes, the Nakota, Dakota, and Lakota. The Lakota are third in population size between the three.

After the whites came, they pushed the Lakota away from the great lakes region and they moved to the Midwest by the states, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana.

Well, the Lakota called him that because when he was a boy, he got in a fight and the facepaint smeared all over his face just like rain would do. He became a great leader and warrior in the Lakota wars. After the battle of Little Bighorn, he went with Sitting Bull to Canada and returned to the U.S with him. Sitting Bull was a medicine man and he was the last Souix chief to surrender to the U.S government. He also was a shaman and leader of the Hunkpapa Souix; who led 3500 warriors against the U.S at the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Sitting Bull also led several people to Canada for a while. He went to Canada because he was blamed for a massacre.
Gall, aka Man Who Goes In The Middle and Red Walker, was Sitting Bull's brother and ally. Gall mounted the counterattack on Commander Marcus Reno's troops during the Battle of Little Bighorn. The reason he did this was because his wives and children were victims of Reno's assault. Crazy Horse is the most famous warrior/leader of the Lakota Indians. He is famous for his huge role in battles, and is called a great leader by his people. When Crazy Horse was a kid, he stole horses from the Crow Indians. He was determined to preserve the Lakota culture. Crazy Horse was a legendary warrior.

The first peace they believed in was the city of Wanka Tanka. They think this place is everywhere and that it's the "real" peace. The second peace is that there should be peace between two individuals. The third is that there should be peace between two nations. In battle, the Lakota used coup sticks, clubs, and bow and arrows. They even rarely used buffalo bones. The Lakota people were not very artistic.
